Finance minister Malusi Gigaba has announced that South Africa will see its first VAT rate increase for the first time in 25.
The National energy regulator of SouthAfrica (Nersa) has approved a 5.23% average price increase which will be implemented on 1 April 2018 for Eskom direct customers and a 7.32% average price increase for municipalities which will be implemented on 1 July 2018.
