With just 11% of the water left in the city’s six largest dams usable, the City Of Cape Town has forgotten what rain actually is. Such a calamity has forced the local municipality to propose level 4 water restriction.

Level four restriction mean no watering of garpodens, irrigation with municipal drinking water at all, and no new golf courses or sports fields to be built unless they will be watered with non-potable water. The previous level 3 had allowed watering can for an hour on Tuesday and Saturday, but that would be out of bounds if the Level 4 is approved.

Should Council approve the restrictions, it will be in effect from June 1Cape-town-Water-crisis
