Global wind day / 15 June

Last 15 june was the global wind day. It’s a good opportunity to remind that South Africa is the leader of wind energy across the whole African continent.
Along the last months and years, more than 600 wind turbines has been empowered across the Land with a capacity of 1.4 GW.
The development of Wind energy is not just good for the earth and the climate, it’s also a synonym of socio economic for communities across rural South Africa as more than 7 billion Rand has been legally committed for socioeconomic development by wind farms alone.
Finally, this leadership in clean energy has permitted to reduce the carbon emissions by 7.7 million tones with a contribution of 7603GWh in the global energy consumption of the country
